Esther Ford, CPS is the Founder/CEO of a District of   Columbia, 501c3 peer run organization called FIRST STOP RECOVERY RESOURCE AND WELLNESS CENTER (FSR).


This organization provides a holistic approach to wellness.  FSR’s goal is to provide healing and awareness of Health, Body, Mind, SPIRIT together with education and support by introducing and promoting how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. These services are provided to all consumers with behavioral health conditions, who express an interest to journey on the road to recovery along with family support.                                                             

Esther is also the founder of EXOA which is a new 12 step program to support those who are incarcerated and those returning to our communities. Esther is a Veteran, Forensic Certified Peer Specialist, Advanced Level Certified Re Entry Support Specialist and a WRAP Facilitator.                                                                   

Esther is invested in her Standardized Peer Foundation Training that has proven to be 98% successful by providing and intense training that prepares those who have a desire to support their fellow peers in recovery by becoming a Certified Peer Specialist. Esther volunteers her time providing a wide range of services to Homeless individuals here in DC that have a behavioral health conditions.                  

Esther was chosen in April 2015 for a 6 month position as a Peer Program Assistant providing support to inmates at DC Dept. of Corrections CTF’S Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Program, facilitating groups and one on one WRAP education and interventions. Esther supports and mentors in a number of roles throughout the community including sponsoring those seeking recovery affiliated with NA, DTR and now the EXOA movement. Before all of her success, Esther spent over 30 years suffering from severe trauma due to Adverse Childhood Experiences. As a result of that trauma Esther spent more than 20 years using drugs while going in and out of jails and institutions. Esther attributes her wellness by her belief in GOD, using WRAP on a continually basis partnered with the belief that though peer and support, recovery of all forms is possible.
