I am a native Washingtonian and have been a part of DC all my life. I have no children. I am a Certified Peer Specialist (class of 2016) and I am also a Recovery Coach (class of 2016).

I am currently in college to obtain my certification in Addictions Counseling in order to continue to work with others like myself to find a path to a healthy, happy and productive life.

I learned early on as a child that I suffered with seizures that were a direct result of my mental health instability. Even though I have spent the majority of my life in active addiction, I am thankful for my experiences because without them I wouldn’t be the person I am today.

Having a WRAP has been vital to my being able to maintain stability in my life as well as help me to deal with my triggers when they show up. This is a powerful tool that has enabled me to add value and contentment to my life and I would suggest the use this tool to others.

“Being a Peer Specialist is very important for me because, it allows me to be able to help someone else, just as someone helped me when I was in need of support in my recovery process.”
