Community Links Project:  Reentry Moving Forward from Incarceration

Too many of our neighbors in Washington, DC lose their lives or family members and friends to a substance use disorder. Many of these cases involve opioid overdoses. “LIVE.LONG.DC,” Washington, DC’s Strategic Plan to Reduce Opioid Use, Misuse and Related Deaths is our blueprint for how best to continue moving forward with urgency and thoughtfulness as we work towards reversing fatal opioid overdoses ...    GOAL 6: Develop and implement a shared vision between the District’s justice and public health agencies to address the needs of individuals who come in contact with the criminal justice system. Promote a culture of empathy for arrestees, inmates, returning citizens, and their families as they navigate the various entities in the criminal justice system.

The Community Links Manual is designed for mental health agencies and organizations to use in developing and administering a Community Links Program. If you are an agency or organization working to assist people in their recovery and promote community integration, this manual addresses that need

Dreamers and Achievers Center Inc  would like to work with returning citizens to be able to start their own organization or business. The Center will provide training for this through one of our partners who works in this field.
